Suicide Prevention

Firelands Counseling offers the Question, Persuade, Refer (QPR) training in Huron County schools.

Much like CPR or the Heimlich Maneuver, the fundamentals of QPR are easily learned. And like CPR and the Heimlich Maneuver, the application of QPR may save a life. QPR consists of three life-saving skills. How to:

Question...a person about suicide;
Persuade...the person to get help; and
Refer...the person to the appropriate resource.

Family Life Counseling offers the Curriculum-Based Support Group Program in Huron County schools. This is a support group intervention designed to increase resiliency and reduce risk factors amoung youth age 5-12.

The Huron County LOSS team provides outreach to survivors of loss, including losses from both suicide and overdose.
